Little do a lot of us know, you do not have to travel far to find new music that you would like to listen too from an artist you have never heard before. There are some great musicians just in your own backyard we will say. This is the case with this reviewers selection this month in Discover. Hailing from Fredericton, New Brusnswick, Canada, let me introduced you to Jaclyn Reinhart and her new CD called, “Favorites Mistakes”.
What has been given to us in this five song set is an wide range of honest emotions. You feel the pieces here are autobiographical and all of us can relate to the subjects as it is about the ups and downs of relationships.
On “Favorite Mistakes”, Jaclyn Reinhart takes us through the pain of separation in the dramatic, “ Oil & Water”, an emotional and painful reality check in, “I Know a Girl”, the feel of reflecting on what could have been, “Take It”, if only the man involved would have stepped up and given it his all. On “One Day”, the promise of convincing the object of her affection that if just given the change, he would be hers.
Now, Jaclyn Reinhart’s name is the first you see when you pick up this CD, however it feels like a complete band effort with its fullness within the compositions. The musicianship of Jessy Ashfield (Keyboards), Tony Patterson (Bass), Jonnie Price (Guitar) and Chris Eagles (Drums) are felt throughout this piece of work. In accomplishing this not one individual played over the song but for the song.
This is a collection of music we can all relate to and is played with vigor and genuine emotion. Jaclyn Reinhart’s “Favorite Mistake” is recommended for all of those that have been the same things in life.
