Encouraging Passion

All this month, I’m going to be writing about “Passion”. I don’t want you to think of it as an emotion or even a feeling; let’s discuss it in the form of “accomplishing a goal”. To be very honest, years ago, when I thought or heard the word “passion”, I instantly thought of, love, sex, or a certain degree of lust. Now that I am a passionate woman with a purpose, my viewpoint has changed immensely.

Have you ever had the pleasure of knowing someone so gifted that you knew his/her destiny would not fulfill their greater purpose in life, if they didn’t continue working towards their passion; but you neglected to tell that person? If you’ve felt this, then I can tell you, without asking you for details, that you have not given that person the encouragement to push pass all the idle garbage to pursue his/her dream. I’m not saying that you owe that person anything; please understand me. What I’m telling you is if you’ve been passionate about anything in your life, than make it your responsibility to speak up and motivate others to pursue their passions. I’m a firm believer that none of us are here on this earth, to benefit ourselves. If we were created to live and cultivate life as individuals without ever giving back, we would become extinct.

Every opportunity given to one person creates double the purpose for someone else (patting my own back). Our lives become so much more enriched and beneficial when we make an impact on someone else’s life. Passion always comes with a purpose, and purpose comes with a price; so if that statement is true, how can one avoid at least trying to become a motivating factor to someone else in this lifetime? It is impossible for you to go through your entire life without a test or a trial. Our lives are tested daily, sometimes we pass and other times not. Since we reap what we sow or if you believe in “Karma” then you know exactly where I’m coming from. I understand there are times that we’ve all tried to encourage someone to take the chance at their dream, only to watch that person contemplate, procrastinate or even give up. It’s very disheartening to say the least. However, if you don’t let anything in this blog motivate you; please let this sink deeply into your psyche: You don’t have to be a role model; but you “DO” have to be an encouragement to someone in order to serve “Your” purpose.

My next post will present two gentlemen that have a “sole” passion for what they’re doing on a daily basis. When I interviewed these men and even for one of them, viewed his work, I knew that I had to show what they do “passionately” to the world. Don’t let another opportunity pass you by without being a motivating factor for that "one" person; I can almost guarantee it now, it will come back to haunt you.

Thank you
