Are you blocking your own path to success?
Success by definition is to favorably complete a pursuit or achieve an endeavor; simple enough, right? So why does success sometimes seem so out of reach? Well after reading all the self-help books; taking all the advice that Oprah, Dr. Phil, Suze Orman, and Bishop Jakes can give out; and reading all the great scriptures that can give me insight on this matter; I finally had to take a look at the Diva in the Mirror.

Okay, so I look in the mirror all the time, but when I’m looking in the mirror am I truly seeing what’s there? Well, the answer is no. However I’ve had a little time to evaluate this question, “am I blocking my own path to success.” I have to admit that I was.
Have you ever “dumbed yourself down” to make other people feel comfortable? Have you ever hidden your gifts or talents because you didn’t want to be “hated on”? Even worst, are you the person who is always supporting everyone else’s dream, and forgetting about yours? Well if you answered yes to any of these questions, you ARE blocking your own path to success.
Here’s how to stop:
Make a list of 3-5 things you do well. Put a star by the things on the list that you could make a career of, or that can be profitable. After you’ve done that, make a list of all the people you’ve spent time supporting. Now you have to make a decision, do you really want to achieve success, or are you okay with being mediocre? If you’re okay with mediocrity, you can stop now and just admire your list. However, if you want to be exceptional and achieve greatness, develop a game plan that will allow you to turn your gifts into gold. And while you’re on this pursuit of greatness, be sure to contact all those people on your list that you’ve support, and give them the opportunity to return the favor.
I’ve made my list, and that’s why you’re reading this now. I’m pursuing a passion of mine. Now… make your list and let me know how it goes.
Life is to be lived, fully, happily, gratefully!
And oh yeah... Keep it swagga baby!
