My VENT to the plus size Industry

 v-magazine-number-63-040110-9

I'm a little upset with the plus size industry and I need to vent about how I'm feeling, I know I'm but so small in it, But everyone is entitled to their opinion so here it goes.

This week my anger was trigger when a photo taken inside of a plus size clothing store of "Real plus size women" being advertised on the walls of the store, And the comment was made that it will be better if us plus sized women saw more of this, I couldn't agree more, I'm so tired of viewing websites, Magazines and shopping at stores where all I see are women labeled as "Plus Sized" looking nothing like me or any plus size women I know. What it looks like to me is plus sized clothing on skinny women, and if the clothes are made for plus size women I don't think putting them on skinny model really show the true form of clothing and compliment their designs, Why not show use the size 18,20,22 or 24 sized women wearing the clothing in your advertisements? That's who their made for isn't it? But instead designers would rather "Pad" a skinny model to wear themSEE STORY HERE, In my Kanye west and Jay z voice "That Sh*t Cray". I cant tell you how many times I have went shopping and looked at the big cant miss photo displays in the windows and on the walls of my favorite plus size stores to shop at and say "She is pretty, But she is not plus size", I have even vented to the employee's before knowing they have nothing to do with who's pictures are displayed, But its funny when they agree with me and say "Hey I just work here". I know I must sound like the ultimate hater, But I'm not I love being apart of such a beautiful community that is growing everyday with women that are becoming comfortable with their bodies and accepting that they may never be a size 2. Its a bit discouraging even to me when I see this, Because it makes me feel that my dream of being a known Plus size model may never become real life because I feel I have to loose so much weight just fit the bill of what the industry consider "Plus size", I know me being a size 22-24 is not what most designers and agencies that does represent bigger women are looking for and that I will have to loose some and tone some to be taking more serious, But I'm still confused of whats the accepted size, Plus size models are getting smaller and smaller by the day. A confident "Real" plus size women is a force to be reckoned with, I just wish I can see in the near future when I go to flip through a Magazine dedicated to plus size women and Shop at my favorite clothing stores I will see just that.
